Critical analysis on one of my spring semester's modual -EDN 417(Foundation of Early Childhood Education)

With the rapid advancement of technology over the world, all people are aware of advantages of integrating ICT in teaching and learning processes. So, all most all educators prefer using ICT educational tools at least the computer, projector and internet while teaching to enhance greater student's engagement in learning and to ensure their students in quick access to diverse resources such as videos, articles, and interactive simulations that helps in enriching and enabling us to explore topics in greater depth. Similarly, in EDN 417, our tutor has always been integrating ICT in her teaching. For example, she has been preparing her lessons using power point slides which enhance our visual engagement through the visual elements such as images, charts and diagrams which actually helped us in grasping key concepts more effectively. She has also provided us with links that helped us in accessing with a wealth of information and exploring the topics in more depth which actually helped us in extending our learning beyond the classroom. One of the most interesting thing to talk about her teaching is that she sometimes prepared a quizzes in Kahoot that helped us in reinforcing previously taught concepts and to reflect on our own learning and to identify areas that require further review. Most importantly, Kahoot quizzes helped us to regain concentration into the session and to prevent us from getting bored. She has been even using telegram to communicate or convey the information. Though there are many advantages of integrating ICT in teaching and learning processes, there are many limitations as well mainly due to weak internet connectivity. For instance, when we were watching videos, we had been always going through the issues of action and the audio not being able to matched which actually ruins the aim of watching the video. Sometimes we get delay to start the session mainly due to weak internet connectivity and the tutor is not be able to connect the laptop with the projector. So we had to wait for the technician people to come and solve the problems. Therefor, if college management could work on improving the internet services, the integration of ICT in teaching and learning will be in great success and accordingly students will be greatly benefited through the effective teaching and learning.
